Razavi Shrine to Host Sha’aban Eids Celebrations

IQNA – With the arrival of the lunar Hijri month of Shaban, the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, northeast Iran, will host the celebrations on the auspicious occasions of the month.

Every year, various ceremonies are organized in different parts of the world on the birth anniversaries of Imam Hussein (AS), Hazrat Abbas (AS) and Imam Sajjad (AS), which respectively fall on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of Sha’aban (January 3,4 and 5 this year).

On the eve of Imam Hussein’s (AS) birthday, a ceremony will be held Thursday night, January 22, at the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS).

The Imam Khomeini (RA) portico in the Razavi shrine will host the event after Maghrib and Isha prayers, with the recitation of Ziarat Aminullah by Mehdi Sarwari.

Then, Hojat-ol-Islam Abdol Hamid Vaez Shahidi will deliver a speech about the noble personality of Imam Hussein (AS).

Other parts of the ceremony will include a ritual poetry reading by Mohammad Reza Tabasi and religious songs by eulogists Ahmad Reza Mohammadian and Hossein Ali Maddadi.

Similar celebratory programs will be organized at different parts of the mausoleum on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
